Video Girl Ai is
an awesome OAV and an even better manga series. The 6 part OAV is based on the
15 volume manga series by Masakazu Katsura. ALthough it was unfortunate that the plot was
boiled down to six parts, the OAV was still very enjoyable. The plot and dialogue were so
well written that I even got misty eyed at some points.
The Plot:
After playing a magical "videogirl" tape in his broken vcr (which is something you should never do), Youta Moteuchi causes a really bad tape glitch. The glitch is so powerful that it ejects the videogirl into the real world minus her overly large breasts and submissive personality.
What follows is a romantic comedy like none other. As the series progresses Ai and Youta become dependent on each other for emotional support while Yohta pines for his good friend Moemi, whom he can never have.
